In a research which this paper reflects its results , a model for open innovation in banking industry is offered. In fact , the relationship of open innovation as latent variable and the influential factors are stated in a model. In this regard, with reviewing literature and previous researches, a conceptual model for open innovation in banking industry was designed. This model includes three main constructs like internal factors (technological resources, capability of idea attraction ), external factors(external knowledge resources, technological changes) and the relationship factors as trust. By conducting interviews with experts regarding the model constructs and doing statistical analysis, it has been approved. Then in a field study in Parsian Bank, by distribution of questionnaires, the relevant data for approval of the model ingredients were gathered. At last, by using structural equation modeling and regression equations in path analysis form and using SPSS and LISREL Softwares , the data were analyzed and the interrelation among latent variable and independent variables were stated clearly. The findings show that, in internal side ,technological sources doesn’t show any direct relation with open innovation, while the capability of idea attraction, had direct relation with open innovation. In external side, knowledge and technological change had positive and direct relation with open innovation. In interaction side, trust had positive and direct relation with open innovation. The model of this research can be useful for cultivating open innovation in banking industries and as a powerful tool for policy makers and planner in this sector. Manuscript profile

This paper explores several characteristics of patents in the biotechnology field, comparing and contrasting them to patents in other fields of research. We find that biotechnology patents face a longer lag between application and grant date, and their secrecy would be heavily affected if legislation were to permit publication 18 months after application. They are highly concentrated geographically, as well as in industrial origin, and are used most heavily in the health sector, but have a wider spread in use than in origin. They use many more (and much more recent) references than the average patent, with a special weight on academic or scientific literature, foreign patents, and a tight circle of research fields. ABSTRACT Cooperation between university and industry is not a new topic. Although there are some tested and used models for characterizing and analyzing this cooperation, these models have proven to be inefficient and unsuccessful in some countries. Therefore in this study we developed a model to analyze the level of university – industry cooperation in Iran. Furthermore we identified and ranked the barriers hampering and blocking this cooperation. In order to do so we used Interpretive Structural modeling (ISM) and Friedman test. Since ISM is based on the views of scholars we asked 33 experts both from university and industry to provide their views and comments about the present condition of university – industry cooperation. Using research findings we ranked barriers that hamper university – industry cooperation respectively as: 1- lack of trust between industry sector and academia; 2- lack of demand – centered research and dissertations; and 3-motivational issues.   Manuscript profile

Moving on the path of innovation and entrepreneurship (value-creating) and fulfilling the desired social responsibility is one of the axes of the evolution of universities in recent years, especially in the last two decades. Innovative and value-creating university, for which various definitions have been proposed and various dimensions and criteria have been proposed for its introduction and creation, is one of the new initiatives and ideas for transformation in university systems. Despite identifying and introducing various components and criteria for an innovative and value-creating university, creating this type of university and purposeful and managed movement in the path of innovation and entrepreneurship requires a comprehensive roadmap and a balanced action guide. In order to evolve and achieve a comprehensive model, a guideline framework consisting of eight dimensions, as an action plan and operational model of an innovative and value-creating university by the European Commission and OECD, design and more than 600 universities and higher education institutes in Europe and OECD has evaluated this model. In this paper, through a review of documents, the guide to innovative and value-creating university is introduced as a guide for mainly European programs, for the gradual and systematic transformation of existing universities into innovative and value-creating universities with local considerations. All Iranian universities and higher education institutions with any mission, by learning and adapting actively and productively from this framework and gradually adapting their conditions to its dimensions and criteria, can take fundamental steps in the path of innovation and entrepreneurship and become an innovative and value-creating university in the Relation of Industry and University, Innovative and Entrepreneurial University, Value-creating University, Third Generation University, Guiding Framework for Innovative Higher Education Institute (HEInnovative)true and actual word. The main purpose of this research is to identify and investigate the organizational factors for implementing open innovation in Iran universities. This study was a qualitative-quantitative research. The field of research in the qualitative section was all open innovation articles and books in the period from 2007 to 2018 and open innovation components were extracted by thematic analysis in an inductive manner. In this research, the "Thematic Network" was used. The validity of the research was approved by the referee by the audit method. To calculate reliability, coding was done by studying row to row of selected resources manually by two individuals individually. After coding, the results of these two coding were compared by the Holsti method. The result of thematic analysis was the extraction of 20 basic themes from different sections of the articles. From these basic themes, 3 organizing themes and finally global theme of “organizational factors” were extracted. Then the proposed innovation model was designed and a questionnaire was prepared for fitting this model. The proposed model has three factors related to the organizational preparation, human resource preparation, and setting up for idea creation, which offered three dimensions for the university to exploit the open innovation. The statistical population in the quantitative part of the research was the managers of the centers of growth and innovation of various universities, including State universities, Islamic azad universities, Payam Noor universities, Scientific and Applied Sciences universities, and Medical universities licensed by the Ministry of Science and also faculty member of entrepreneurship management. To evaluate the content validity of the questionnaire, the Lawshe method was used. In order to study the structural validity of the test, the analysis of the questions was done by confirmatory factor analysis method. All calculated factor loads were greater than 0.6 indicating their favorable condition. Also, all calculated pi values were less than 0.05 which indicated a significant relationship between each factor and the main factor higher than its own. The reliability of the final test was also examined by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. All calculated Cronbach's alpha coefficients were greater than 0.7 which showed reliability acceptable. the results of the validity and reliability testing of the quantitative part confirmed the proposed model. Today, the biological sciences are one the most important parts of the basic sciences. This explains why most industrial countries are heavily investing in it. In the USA, more than half of all federal government support in science is allocated to the biological sciences. In the EU, more than 22 million people are employed in professions relating to the biological sciences. In Iran, Science and Technology Initiatives consider basic sciences as one of the important parts of science and most universities educate students in the biological sciences. In addition, some incubators and science parks are devoted to biological sciences. To evaluate the research in biological sciences in Iran, we compared the quantity, quality, international cooperation, and the cooperation between academia and industry with Asian and global universities. To do this, we used Leiden ranking results in two time frames, namely 2008-2011 and 2012-2015. The results demonstrate that Iran stands at a relatively good point based on the number of publications. However, greater efforts are necessary to avoid falling behind in terms of rank. Additionally, this study shows that the quality of publications requires significant improvements. Furthermore, international cooperation of universities should be expanded. Poor industrial cooperation between university and industry is mainly due to the lack of related industries. In conclusion, a detailed plan should be developed to ensure leadership in biological sciences and achieve scientific authority in the field Manuscript profile

Firms try to increase their innovative performance to survive in a turbulent market and improve their competitive position. Combining these efforts does not necessarily lead to profit and increase their market share. To understand this shortcoming, researchers look at the factors that affect innovation performance and how to measure it. However, the subject that needs to be addressed is the firm's innovative behavior, which can affect innovation performance. By borrowing from the concept of dynamic capabilities, the present study has tried to classify the possible types of capabilities to create new products, services, and processes into three general categories: innovation capabilities, collaboration-based capabilities, and complementary capabilities, and by presenting different hypotheses for the effectiveness of these capabilities. Test the firm in innovative performance. For this purpose,180 questionnaires were distributed among firms to report the number of new products/services, the number of new processes, their financial performance, and the types of measures taken in their field of innovation from 1392 to 1394. After confirming their validity and reliability and creating structural equations using the partial least squares (PLS) method, results showed that innovation capabilities and collaboration-based capabilities significantly positively affect innovation performance. Also, research and development, training of human resources, design, collaborative research and development, and purchase of technical knowledge have significant path coefficients in the resulting PLS model and significantly affect innovation. In addition, the purchase of machinery and tools only significantly affects the creation of innovation. Manuscript profile

If universities functioned in a stable environment, the demands for leadership would be modest. Mission, vision, programs, strategies, and policies could simply be put on automatic pilot. Automatic pilots don’t work for universities. Environment is in continual context, and the results and consequences of these changes for the future of universities are profound. Sound, creative and empowering leadership is indispensable, and it spells the difference between productive, sustainable universities and those that are in continual crisis and failing. One need only reflect on the change that has come about in university over the last century. The very mission and scale of universities have been transformed. Universities are altering the ways and means of teaching and learning. New directions and methods in research and service to society are evolving. The costs-benefits of the academic enterprise are in continual fluctuation and open to challenge. The roles of faculty are different, as are campus cultures. The very definition of precisely who is served and touched by universities is in transition. Leading change is clearly the most difficult and taxing challenge faced by university managers and leaders. Occupying a position of leadership and exercising the role of manager and leader are entirely different.Too many positions of leadership are filled by those who occupy the chair and carry the title but fail to lead universities in ways that enable them to adapt to a demanding environment, optimize their mission, align with values, and produce a lasting contribution to society. It does not speak to the position of leadership, to title, or to mere survival skills; rather it speaks to the creative act, the behavior, the hard work, and the skill and competency of leadership and management Manuscript profile

Any society to achieve real and sustainable development goals requires continuous interaction between scientific and technical institutions, takes form in the template of university and industry. In fact, universities are generating knowledge and transferring it to scholars, the industry also works to apply knowledge and shares its expectations to university research teams, and they present their ideas, findings and outcomes to the industry. Transportation science also is no exception, and in recent years, it has introduced and implemented new technologies called Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in universal level. Studies in Iran show that transferring knowledge between university and intelligent transportation industry face challenges and obstacles that have led industry owners to the direction of assembling imported components and escaping from universities. This study aims to explanation and interpretation of viewpoints of university and industry section experts about obstacles that affect transferring knowledge between these two institutions in line with implementation of intelligent urban transportation. In this research, firstgy determined effective indices of industry – university interaction obstacles by searching library and documentation resources. Fuzzy Delfi is used to sieve indices and identifying final submeasures. As 43 suggested obstacles were initially available to transportation science experts and by this technic, at first stage 27 obstacles and then, 15 obstacles were chosen for evaluation and ranking. Ranking was also done though fuzzy AHP. Results showed that lack of necessary infrastructures in ITS industry, and lack of applicability in science production areb the main obstacles of industry – university interaction in order to develop infrastructures of intelligent urban transportation Manuscript profile

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) rely on external sources of knowledge more than large enterprises due to knowledge and financial limitations for innovation, and therefore, collaboration with the university is more important for SMEs. However, history of the recent decades of university-industry collaboration in Iran shows that this collaboration is more focused on large industries. In the current research, using the grounded theory, after interviewing experts and reviewing relevant documents, the model of developing the university -SME’s collaboration was formulated. Based on the results of data analysis, in order to develop the collaboration between universities and SME’s, it is necessary to set up an Internet site, offices at the provincial and national levels to manage this relationship; Because SME’s due to limited resources cannot create organizations within themselves to communicate with the university. To increase the effectiveness of joint projects, the university should be connected to a network of SME’s instead of one firm, and diagnostic teams consisting of academic experts should identify the common problems of these networks. Finally, in order to implement improvement projects, it is necessary to attract the participation of all public, public and private institutions, due to the limited financial resources of SME’s Manuscript profile
